Route

We start in the Turks & Caicos Islands biggest hub Providenciales. The country is known for world class diving and whale watching with pristine blue waters, lagoons and cays similar to the Bahamas. This leg takes us from the laid-back turquoise banks of the Turks & Caicos into the deep blue of the open Atlantic before reaching the lush and vibrant islands of the Caribbean further south. After departing Providenciales, we will aim for a weather window to make our first proper offshore passage towards the Domincan Republic.

The DR offers a great mix of culture, provisioning opportunities, and protected anchorages. We will slowly make our way east along the coast of the DR and finally wait for a good weather window to set sail on our four day crossing from the DR to Curacao or even Bonaire, depending on the wind and our time frame.

The ABC-Islands lie outside the hurricane belt and offer a completely different landscape: tropical, rugged, and perfect for exploration both above and below water and world class diving and snorkeling.

Activities

This is real liveaboard life — no fixed itinerary, no daily schedule, no pressure.

You are free to shape your days as you like. Go snorkeling over coral reefs, explore small coastal towns, jump in for a swim at sunrise, or spend a quiet afternoon reading on deck. If you work remotely, there will often be opportunities to get a few hours in. The trip has a strong focus on life in and around the water. Expect plenty of:

  • Snorkeling & freediving
  • Spearfishing (where permitted)
  • Fishing from the boat
  • Exploring anchorages by dinghy

We’ll share many of these moments together — cooking, sailing, navigating, and just enjoying the rhythm of life at sea. Longer offshore passages are part of this leg and will give you a real taste of bluewater sailing. We are between six and eight people between 20 and 30 years old. You'll either be in a single cabin, or sharing a double cabin with private bathroom.

Travel to and from the Boat

Travel to Providenciales Airport (PLS) in Turks & Caicos on or around 18th of June (boat is there before if you like to come earlier). Depart from Curacao Airport (CUR) in Curacao no later than 27th of July. As always with sailing, plans can shift — flexible travel arrangements are strongly recommended.

Requirements

You do not need prior sailing experience. You should be comfortable spending extended time at sea and be open to longer passages. An interest in the ocean and underwater activities is highly encouraged, but no prior experience is required. You must be able to enter the relevant countries (Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico / USA, and the ABC Islands). A positive, adaptable mindset is key — this trip is about embracing the journey rather than sticking to a fixed plan.
