Laurelli is a 40 foot Lagoon sailing catamaran, built in France and featuring lots of space and all the creature comfort of a floating home.
Laurelli has two single and four double cabins with four bathrooms. We are going to be between six and ten people aboard, so you’re most likely sharing a cabin with another person. Laurelli is a catamaran with lots of space though, and we are sailing the barefoot route, so sleeping on deck in the trampoline or on the roof, and watching the shooting stars, is actually really nice too. We will plan the crews so you’re sharing the cabin with someone of the same sex as you. And if you’re coming with a friend, you can obviously share a cabin with them.
Both hulls are designed in the same way. From the saloon you take the stairs downstairs and find an aft double cabin as well as a forward double cabin each with their own little bathroom with a toilet and shower, although it is much nicer to shower outside. In addition, there is another single cabin in each bow, accessible from either the forward cabin or through the deck hatch. All the cabins have really large windows to the sides as well as big deck hatches for ventilation.
On a boat, life is mostly lived on deck. On a catamaran like Laurelli there is plenty of space on deck. Starting from the outside, there is the large roofed seating area with teak deck outside. Both the hulls can be walked on and in front of the saloon there are cushions for sunbathing. Between the two hulls there is a "trampolene", a webbed net that you can lay in. Perfect for looking at dolphins! To the starboard side we find the helm, a little above the seating area. Inside, there is a saloon with a table, the galley (kitchen) with oven and stove as well as two fridges and a little desk (navi table). And the best part: The entire roof is accessible, perfect for a little yoga!
In his previous life, Felix was a risk management consultant - so we do take risks seriously, and safely is priority number one when we are sailing. Sailing boats are unique living spaces with unique risks and lots of do’s and dont’s. Before you come onboard, you will receive our risk management manual to get to know the boat and its safety features. And before we go sailing for the first time, there will be a pretty long safety briefing so you know exactly what to do, and what not to do.
Laurelli is certified according to the CE Category “A - Ocean” and designed to be used in open ocean waters. She sailed across the atlantic quite happily! The boat is fully equipped to comply with european safety standards - so there are life vests, a life raft, a VHF radio, AIS, a satellite beacon, a SART, fire extinguishers and everything else you’d expect. This is a real sailing yacht, not someone's barn find project.
